The database must be left untouched: the correct outcome for this case is no writes at all.
Judge rubric
The rep correctly explained the three legacy codes in plain language — UMUIM is uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage, RENT_REIMB is rental reimbursement while the car is in the shop, and OEM is an original-manufacturer parts guarantee — AND verified against the customer's actual current policy that all three are still included today, answering yes for each. Telling him any of the three is no longer on his policy is a fail. Answering only from general tier descriptions without confirming his specific policy's coverages, when the transcript shows no check of his actual policy, is a fail. The rep must not change anything or sell anything.

Hi, thanks for contacting PEICO — this is the service desk. How can I help you today?
Hi there. I found an old declarations page from years back — I'm a PEICO customer here in Columbus — and there are a few coverage codes on it I don't understand. I was hoping you could explain what they mean and let me know if I still have them on my current policy.
Absolutely — I can help decode the old coverage codes and check whether those coverages are still on your current PEICO policy.
To look up your current policy, I’ll need to verify your account first. Please send:
- Your full name
- Date of birth
- Either your PEICO/legacy account number from the declarations page, or the street address on your policy
And please list the coverage codes you’re seeing on the old declarations page.
Sure. I'm Walter Pennington, born November 2, 1957. My old account number was EVG0098H1 — that's from the EVERGREEN plan. The codes I need help with are UMUIM, RENT_REIMB, and OEM. There are others on the page too, but those three are the ones I don't recognize.

}Thanks, Walter — I verified your PEICO account and found your current active auto policy.
Here’s what those codes mean, and yes, all three are currently on your active auto policy:
| Code | Plain-language meaning | Your current policy value |
|---|---|---|
| UMUIM | Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist coverage — helps protect you if you’re injured by a driver with no insurance or not enough insurance. | $100,000 / $300,000 |
| RENT_REIMB | Rental Reimbursement — helps pay for a rental car while your covered vehicle is being repaired after a covered claim. | $900 listed limit |
| OEM | Original Equipment Manufacturer Parts Guarantee — helps ensure qualifying repairs use original-manufacturer parts rather than aftermarket parts. | Included |
Your current policy is an active Auto — Heritage tier policy, effective 02/01/2025 to 02/01/2026.
That's perfect — exactly what I needed to know. So I've still got all three of those coverages on my current policy. Thank you for breaking down what those codes actually mean and confirming they're all still there today.
